I am a currently a student studying Fine Art at the University of Southampton. My work predominantly deals with the theme of Portraiture, within the contemporary realm of Art. Contextually, my pieces of art portray an exploration into the transferable qualities that either a photograph or primary observations contain and how I can then give myself, the artistic license to express these qualities onto paper/canvas/board. It can also be said, that I am driven by the powerful processes of photography and its role in informing contemporary referencing. Some of the interests that underpin my paintings, stem from my constant critical thinking and questioning of the wealth of Art, that cultivates the contemporary practices of today.
